Red vein kratom is one of the most sought after varieties of kratom, and for good reason too. These strains contain a large variety of medicinal, The prized effects this type of kratom can provide are pain relief, but it often also provides some sedation and relaxation as well. (more…)
One of the best features of kratom is its flexibility of effects. There are a multitude of different strains and vein types one can utilize depending on one’s needs.
While not as popular as red vein strains, some of the best strains that we have encountered have been of this variety. While there is some variation, green vein kratom tend to be moderate in effects — a powerful blend between relaxation and energetic effects. (more…)
Of all different kratom varieties, white vein kratom is the most unique. This vein type has some of the most energetic strains of all and tend to be used in the mornings, or in draining situations where fatigue would be otherwise inevitable. However, while energetic, they overall tend to have less painkilling, analgesic properties than green and red vein strains.
Because of this, they have a very unique niche, and not everyone is suited for them. For those who haven’t tried this variety of kratom, there is a lot of potential within these strains, and shouldn’t be overlooked in favor of some other, heavier strain — sometimes the clean boost of white veins can be just what is needed. HOW DOES KRATOM INCREASE YOUR ENERGY?
Kratom (kray-tom) is a traditional herbal remedy originally used as a stimulant and opiate altnernative throughout Southeast Asia—namely Malaysia and Thailand, the trees’ native habitats.
Kratom has recently been gaining in popularity as a natural and effective energy-booster as well as having other healing properties that interest many types of people. The plant also has gained much recognition for a variety of other reasons: not only is Kratom a natural energy-booster, it’s also a fantastic sedative that helps with opiate withdrawal.
The leaves of the Kratom tree produce an opioid-type substance called alkaloids, natural compounds that stimulate cell receptors, basically telling them to get going. Examples of well-known alkaloids include morphine, ephedrine and nicotine.
Kratom is a sedative, stimulant, mood-enhancer, addiction-mediator and pain reliever. At the right dose, it can make one feel stronger, happier, livelier and more motivated but still calm. Here, we’ll discuss the different ways that Kratom can be used as a stimulant.
Kratom is a well-known option for clearing up brain fog, helping you feel clear-headed, and making you more motivated and efficient. Users report a mild, non-jittery “high” that typically lasts for a few hours. They claim to experience more alertness, less anxiety, and more clarity after ingesting Kratom.
Many people use it as a coffee alternative.
WHAT DOES KRATOM FEEL LIKE?
Users report an overall sense of well-being and focus when taking certain strains of Kratom in certain doses. They are more motivated and confident and feel more energy both physically and mentally—basically, Kratom can offer a solid sense of flow to an otherwise long and stressful day. It’s also reportedly great for athletes who want to increase endurance.
Users report less social anxiety and overall anxiety, less pain (so more endurance, as in the case of athletes), and even more creativity in certain doses. In general, a good dose to start with is about 2 grams before working your way up from there.
“For me, I find if I take a low dose 1-2gs I get energy and pain relief. If I take higher dose 3-4gs, I get sedation.“ ~ Reddit user
With Kratom, the effects may seem opposite to what you’ve experienced from most other substance: the bigger the dosage, the more relaxed you might be, and the smaller the dosage, the more it is likely to act as a stimulant…but only if you have a good understanding of the type of Kratom that you’re taking.
WHAT TYPES OF KRATOM ARE BEST FOR ENERGY & FOCUS?
The energy that you get from Kratom depends on the types of alkaloids that are in a given strain. There’s a pretty big range of strains, so it’s a good idea to read up on them before you go about making a big purchase.
If you want a nice clean burst of clarity, something like you’d get from a cup of coffee (but cleaner and less jittery), you may want to start with a white vein strain. Some users even reportedly use this strain in place of coffee in order to give them a morning boost in concentration and overall clarity.
White-veined strains like White Borneo are good choices for physical and mental stimulation; not only do they offer great nootropic properties, they are also good for physical endurance.
“For me White Borneo (usually 3 grams) works great for energy. Especially when I take with 1 or 2 cups of coffee, while coffee usually doesn’t do a lot for me. Makes me bounce all around while I’m usually a fairly calm person (also due to depression).” ~ Reddit user
Green leaf types also can give you a nice, clean burst of energy that is lasting and not too jittery, so long as you stick to lower dosages. Red vein strains of Kratom tend to have a more relaxing effect, but in smaller doses can give you a calm kind of clarity.
They aren’t typically good for energy, but if you’re a very anxious person and need a sort of calming herb in order to get things done, red vein might be a good choice for your personality.
“Red Bali gives me mild energy. Calm focus. Red Hulu sedates the hell out of me. Red Thai can go either way.” ~ Reddit user
Maeng Da is one of the most popular strains for optimal energy and focus. According to one Longecity user, Maeng Da “energizes, not like a traditional stimulant, but a very clean energy that is uplifting and motivates me to get things accomplished. Meang Da relieves pain, anxiety, and is very motivating.”
“My favorite kratom strain for energy is MAENG DA. A little Maeng Da upon waking and I’m energized all day making my work day incredibly productive! A little Maeng Da mixed with some Red Thai or Bali pre-workout and I’m energized and pain free. Kratom is the best pre-workout I’ve ever used!” ~ Longecity User
WHO SHOULD USE KRATOM FOR ENERGY?
Almost anyone can benefit from the energy-boosting effects of Kratom. Traditionally, Kratom leaves would have likely been chewed by laborers to help them get through a long day of farming.
If you work long business days, if you’re a student, or if you just have a long list of chores to do on a given day, ingesting some of the green or white strains of Kratom could easily give you a long-lasting, natural energy boost that lasts all day.
Kratom seems to act as a relaxant and opiate, which means it can boost creativity for those who have to work long hours doing creative things like artists and writers. If you need to stay up all night to finish any kind of project, Kratom might just be a good choice. It’s also a nice option for outdoor adventurers or athletes who are looking for a stamina boost.
What to expect when you use Kratom
Kratom is unusual among so-called herbal highs in that it actually has psychoactive properties. So many of these legal highs do not deliver on their branding – that is, although they are definitely legal, they definitely do not get you high. But, Kratom is different and unique in that it can produce a euphoric effect. Read a basic Kratom wiki here.
Another unusual aspect of Kratom is that its effects on the individual vary depending on the dose taken. It is impossible to say at which dose you will get a particular effect and we can only make a general distinction between lower doses and higher doses. Obviously, factors such as tolerance levels, physical build, general medical health and the like will have an effect on what constitutes a low or high dose. Finally, kratom effect withdrawal will also depend on your use. If you want to stop Kratom, please leave us your questions and comments below.
Why the effects of Kratom are dose-dependent
Kratom contains many alkaloids (22 at the last count) the most significant for us being mitragynine and 7-hydroxymitragynine. The former is an opioid agonist, in the same category as the ‘true opiates’. The difference between opiates and Kratom is that opiates are attracted to the mu opioid receptors in the brain and mitragynine goes for the delta opioid receptors which results in the energizing effect created by low doses (see below). However, when the levels of Mitragynine hit a certain level, it moves to the mu opioid receptors giving the user a more opiate-like ‘buzz’.
Effects of Kratom at lower doses
At a lower dose, Kratom has an energizing effect. Mood may also be enhanced with an accompanying feeling of mild euphoria. Mundane tasks like cleaning the house, filling out tax returns, etc. will no longer seem mundane for these reasons. And, yes, you can fill out tax returns, as Kratom does not impair cognitive abilities. Some even claim that it improves brain functioning in much the same way as smart drugs are said to do.
Unlike alcohol, Kratom does not make you uncoordinated and, as noted above, doesn’t affect the operation of the intellect so unless they know you have taken Kratom, others will be unaware that you are under the influence, so to speak. The energizing properties of Kratom are the main reason why it is used by Thai labourers who have to work long hours in difficult conditions.
Effects of Kratom at higher doses
The effects of Kratom are markedly different at higher doses. There is a sedative action on the body and yet the brain still remains alert. The feeling of euphoria is more intense and a general feeling of warmth and contentment envelops. These effects are not that different than those produced by low doses of codeine. If however, the dose gets too high then you can become nauseous and may well be physically sick. Constipation is also a side-effect of Kratom use.
Long term effects of Kratom
It may seem that Kratom works naturally to produce a buzz and its effects seem to be all positive, leaving aside the nausea and projectile vomiting. Yet, as with all psychoactive substances, there is a dark side to Kratom if Kratom becomes habitual. For example, the very same Thai labourers who utilize Kratom’s positive side also fall victim to its addictive properties. Research has shown that long term Thai users develop dark patches on their faces and a gaunt, unhealthy appearance. If they stop taking Kratom then they go into withdrawal which is characterized by:
- flu-like symptoms
- RLS (restless leg syndrome)
Kratom has been ingested for a lot of reason, but one of the biggest reasons why a lot of people are utilizing the growing kratom is for managing pain. This is possible since kratom is an effective yet natural solution for pain. A lot of people these days are straying away from harmful and costly pharmaceutical products that can do more harm than good. Kratom is a biological plant that has been harvested and utilized for centuries with no actual major side effects and has been proven countless times to be safe.
The herb is now an answer for a lot of people dealing with long term pain, scoliosis, and other chronic ailments. It works naturally and efficiently at the same time. No other drug can compare to what kratom can do for people suffering from pain. Grown in Southeast Asian nations, kratom is surging in popularity since its numerous advantages are beginning to be realized.
Is Kratom Safe?
Side effects from kratom are almost non-existent and a lot simpler on the body than prescription drugs. Kratom can be addictive, but nothing over than coffee since it’s a biological relative of the coffee tree. The majority of the “addiction” experienced is not the same as that of illicit drugs. Most users have no problem quitting on kratom when needed. It’s very easy to reduce the dosage for a smooth transition. The herb can be utilized to help yourself off prescription pain drugs you’re currently taking.
It’s important to take note that kratom isn’t overly expensive. Pricing for kratom products has increased a bit in recent years due to import issues from Southeast Asia. But it’s still considered good value and once everything have worked itself out the pricing should be lessened.
There are a number of kratom strains available and at varying costs, so you don’t have to go for the more costly ones to achieve your desired effects. Kratom pricing is many times better compared to pharmaceutical pain medicines, especially without insurance plus it’s a lot easier to attain. All it takes is to make a purchase online from a reputable seller and it’ll be on your doorstep within days
You won’t need a prescription or entail a visit to the doctor. Although it’s still recommended to go for check-up before you take in any natural supplements.
Kratom for pain management:
Kratom doesn’t work for every single individual right away since each person has a different body chemistry. There are some people whose body chemistry may simply not work with the herb. If that happens to be the case (which is very rare), the worst thing that happens has no results. But this is actually true with certain herbal supplements in the market. Not everyone will achieve an adequate result s with every supplement.
Kratom has changed a lot of people since it made an impact in their lives. With kratom, a person won’t have to worry about getting up in the morning to deal with pain. If you’re currently living with long term pain such as scoliosis, cancer, fibromyalgia, or conditions and nothing else seems to work your way, you can give kratom ago from the number of kratom vendors available online. It could be the best thing you’ve come across in life.

What is kratom?
Mitragyna Speciosa, also known as Kratom, is a large tree in the Rubiaceae family native to Southeast Asia in the Indochina and Malesia floristic regions. It was first documented by Pieter Korthals, a Dutch colonial botanist. The leaf of the tree contains mirtragynine and was traditionally used for its ethnobotanical and medicinal properties. The leaves of kratom have been used by the indigenous people as a stimulant in low doses, a sedative in large doses, an anti-diarrheal and pain killer. It is said that Kratom affects the human brain similarly to an opiate although there is no conclusive clinical data proving how the alkaloids works in relation to the human brain.
Kratom contains more than 25 alkaloids including mitragynine and 7-hydroxymitragynine. These alkaloids act as mu-opioid receptor antagonist. The three most abundant indoles are mitragynine (9-methoxy-corynantheidine) which is responsible for 1/2 of the alkaloid content, paynanthine, and speciogynine. The two most abundant oxindoles are mitraphylline and speciofoline. Other alkaloids present include ajmalicine, corynanthedine, mitraversine, rhychophylline, and stipulatine. Mitragynine is believed, but has not been proven to be, the primary active alkaloid in Mitragyna Speciosa.
Is Kratom Legal?
Kratom (Mitragyna speciosa) is uncontrolled in the United States with the exception of Indiana and Vermont . This means all parts of the plant and its extracts are legal to cultivate, buy, possess, and distribute (sell, trade or give) without a license or prescription. If sold as a supplement, sales must conform to U.S. supplement laws. If sold for consumption as a food or drug, sales are regulated by the FDA.
In 2012 Indiana banned the chemicals Mirtagynine and 7-hydroxymitragynine, but the legal definition does not appear to cover the plant kratom. In 2012, Vermont issued a an emergency order to ban several new designer chemicals which included 7-hydroxymitragynine (one of the active alkaloids in kratom), effectively banning kratom in Vermont.
Laws change quite often and ignorance of the law does not excuse criminal conduct (Ignorantia juris non excusat)., so be sure that kratom is legal where you live before using it.
How safe is Kratom?
When taken by itself (not mixing it with other substances), the greatest risk when taking Kratom may be falling asleep while engaged in hazardous activities. Like any other substance that may be mind altering or affect your cognitive abilities, do not drive or operate heavy machinery while under the influence of Kratom. Always use common sense. Due to the lack of medical studies regarding the use of Kratom in relation to pregnancy, pregnant women should not take any drug or medication except at the medical advice from their physician. It is not known whether it could cause birth defects or fetal death. Once again, always use common sense regarding anything that you put in your body.
Is Kratom habit forming?
Although a small number of individuals have become dependent on Kratom (primarily in Thailand), Kratom is not habit forming when used in moderation and responsibly. When used in moderation, not daily, there is no documented risk of dependency. It is important not to get into the habit of using Kratom, or any supplement, on a daily basis. Like many stimulants [e.g. alcohol, coffee, tobacco, etc.], when used daily for a prolonged period of time, could become habit forming. You know your body better than any physician and must be diligent regarding self control. If you have a predisposition for addiction, you must treat everything with moderate behavior including the use of Kratom.
What are the effects of Kratom?
Kratom is quite unique, in that, in low to moderate doses will commonly be stimulating and in large doses has a more sedative effect. Often, the individual will experience an analgesic effect caused by the alkaloids contained in Kratom and the manner in which the brain receptors are affected. The level of effect, like any other supplement, depends on many factors including body weight, physiological makeup, tolerance level and so on.
As a stimulant, used in low to moderate doses, the individual will experience an analgesic effect along with physical energy, alertness, increased libido, euphoria, sociability, improved mindset or mood, focus and overall improved demeanor. In some cases when taken in large doses, an individual may experience edginess similar to being over-caffeinated.
An a sedative, used in higher doses, an individual will experience an analgesic effect along with euphoria, a lower sensitivity to pain, both physically and emotionally, relaxation, anti-depression and anti-anxiety. Used in excess, it may result in a prolonged sleep.
What are the active components of Kratom?
The important active alkaloids in Kratom are mitragynine and 7-hydroxymitragynine. These alkaloids are responsible for pain relieving, sedative, euphoric, and stimulating effects.
Are there any reported health issues caused by Kratom?
There are very few reports regarding negative health effects due to Kratom and the circumstances reported were in conjunction with additional illegal substances combined, so there is no conclusive data showing Kratom as the cause for any negative effects. Health problems are unlikely unless one is consuming large quantities of Kratom every day. In Thailand, where many of the indigenous population use kratom daily, those dependent on it can develop weight loss and have physical withdrawal symptoms when quitting abruptly. If any, the withdrawal symptoms may include muscle aches, irritability, crying, runny nose, diarrhea, and muscle jerking. Health problems are unlikely to occur in occasional Kratom users. Like any drug or medicine, moderation is the key and individual’s reactions may vary. It is uncommon, but an individual could possibly experience an allergic or other unusual reaction to Kratom, even if used responsibly. More commonly, when using an excessive amount, an individual’s body would simply reject the substance, thus as a natural physiological reaction, may experience emesis (Vomiting) as the body’s way of preservation.

Almost every person, whether man or woman; has struggled with skin care issues on occasion. It can be a battle to find products that are good for your skin. Skin type, complexion, and underlying health issues must all be factored in when deciding how to care for the largest organ on the human body; our skin. Often-times hundreds of dollars are spent trying to correct issues that are never fully resolved. The solution may very well lie in a holistic alternative to the average beauty product. Kratom beauty and skin care products have been reported to benefit skin tone, complexion, muscle aches, and overall well-being.
To begin with, I have been using Kratom beauty products for over a month and I have noticed a considerable difference in my skin. The Kratom soap I purchased from Kratom Fairy Bath & Body cleared up patches of itchy, dry skin. I also noticed a difference in the muscle aches I experience because of my chronic fatigue syndrome. My skin tone has evened out a bit as well, and the only change I made was switching my soap. Angie Metzener, owner of Angie’s Astrology on Facebook had great things to say about her Kratom soap as well, “I’ve been using it on my face. It seems to be helping the dry patches and clearing any breakouts I’ve been getting.”
The more I asked around, the more I saw that others had similar experiences. I realized that people have been turning to these Kratom beauty products for solutions to their skin care issues that even skin care professionals have been unable to correct. Julie Bass purchased her Kratom soap from PA Botanicals and told me, “Kratom soap makes my skin so soft and my blemishes are clearing up.”
These findings led me to delve deeper into how these products are made and why they are helping so many people. Taleda Giallanza from Bliss Body and Bath was kind enough to explain her crafting process with me, “What’s the big difference between store-bought soap and handmade soap? The main difference is store-bought has a plethora of preservatives and chemicals added to it with little or no skin benefits. In fact, most store-bought soap causes or begins skin problems; drying out skin, causing rashes, itching, red patches, eczema, psoriasis, contact dermatitis, the list goes on. Handmade soap is carefully calculated using whole butters, rich oils, distilled water or other water sources (fruits, vegetables, etc.) with zero chemicals or preservatives included.”
Personally, I have to agree with her. I am not a skin care professional, so I can only go by my own experience, and the experiences of others. I have a soap allergy, and am very limited on the products I can safely use on my skin. Kratom beauty products have not irritated my skin whatsoever. I have only seen benefits. Kim, a customer from Bliss Body and Bath says, “This Kratom soap is all I hoped it would be; it smells awesome, leaves my skin soft, and it works. No more achy muscles!”
Kratom soap is not the only Kratom beauty product available. Kratom is also used to make body cream, body oil, rash paste, bath bombs, salt scrubs, sugar scrubs, incense, and much more. I searched the internet for homemade soap recipes, and there are so many. You can make soap one of two ways, hot process or cold process. The cold process is easier, but takes 4-6 weeks to complete. Here is a recipe from diynatural.com. Just add ¼ cup of dried Kratom powder to the recipe:
Hand & Body Soap Recipe (Cold Process)
- ⅔ cup coconut oil – to produce good lather
- ⅔ cup olive oil – which makes a hard and mild bar
- ⅔ cup other liquid oil – like almond oil, grapeseed, sunflower of safflower oil
- ¼ cup lye – also called 100% sodium hydroxide
- ¾ cup cool water – use distilled or purified
- Cover your work area with newspaper. Put your gloves and other protective wear on. Measure your water into the quart canning jar. Have a spoon ready. Measure your lye, making sure you have exactly ¼ cup. Slowly pour the lye into the water, stirring as you go. Stand back while you stir to avoid the fumes. When the water starts to clear, you can allow it to sit while you move to the next step.
- In the pint jar, add your three oils together. They should just make a pint. Heat in a microwave for about a minute, or place the jar of oils in a pan of water to heat. Check the temperature of your oils – it should be about 120° or so. Your lye should have come down by then to about 120°. Wait for both to cool somewhere between 95° and 105°. This is critical for soap making. Too low and it’ll come together quickly, but be coarse and crumbly.
- When both the lye and oils are at the right temperature, pour the oils into a mixing bowl. Slowly add the lye, stirring until it’s all mixed. Stir by hand for a full 5 minutes. It’s very important to get as much of the lye in contact with as much of the soap as possible. After about 5 minutes, you can keep stirring or you can use an immersion blender (like this). The soap mixture will lighten in color and become thick. When it looks like vanilla pudding it’s at “trace” and you’re good to go. (Watch this video to see what trace looks like.)
- Add your herbs, essential oils or other additions at this point. Stir thoroughly to combine. Pour the mixture into mold(s) and cover with plastic wrap. Set in an old towel and wrap it up. This will keep the residual heat in and start the saponification process. Saponification is the process of the base ingredients becoming soap.
- After 24 hours, check your soap. If it’s still warm or soft, allow it to sit another 12-24 hours. When it’s cold and firm, turn it out onto a piece of parchment paper or baking rack. If using a loaf pan as your mold, cut into bars at this point. Allow soap to cure for 4 weeks or so. Be sure to turn it over once a week to expose all the sides to air (which is not necessary if using a baking rack). For a DIY soap drying rack, I took an old potato chip rack and slid cardboard fabric bolts (from a fabric store) through the rungs.
- When your soap is fully cured, wrap it in wax paper or keep it in an airtight container. Handmade soap creates its own glycerin, which is a humectant, pulling moisture from the air. It should be wrapped to keep it from attracting dust and debris with the moisture.
When you’re done making soap, always clean your equipment that has been exposed to lye. You can neutralize the lye with white vinegar, then wash the equipment well as you normally would. For the rest of it, let it sit for several days. Why? Because when you first make soap, it’s all fat and lye. You’ll be washing forever and you could burn your hands on the residual lye. If you wait, it becomes soap and all it takes to clean it is a soak in hot water.
Not interested in making your own soap? Where do you buy Kratom soap? There are several amazing vendors available who would be more than happy to help you. Of course Bliss Body and Bath on Facebook, Simply Soap by Shandi on Facebook, or Kratom Fairy Bath & Body on Facebook. You can also purchase from pabotanicals.com, transcendencerising.com, homegrownsoapslotionsandpotions.com. All of the owners of those pages and websites were extremely helpful to me in writing this article. Give Kratom beauty products a try and you will not be disappointed.
